Today was DS#1's birthday. He turned 9 today. Where the heck did time go? We didn't get to celebrate his actual Birthday today cause daddy is working. So we will celebrate tomorrow. He was too busy playing the xbox, so I experimented with DD since she is such a ham. Any way here are a few pics with her and the new background. Gotta play with my DOF again with my lights. I haven't gotten everything just right yet :( but with 300 and some odd pics to go I am sure I will get it lol. I know that I blew her shirt and arms, but I am determiced to get there lol. First one is I don't think this is right but ISO 100, 1/6th again, F 8, and 105mm. Same for the second except it is 120mm.

Is this continuous lighting? Are you using a flash meter? Sorry if you have answered before :( I would include the type of lighting you have w/every post. It would be helpful to those willing to cc on your lighting :) Also, one light or two??
You have nice hints of catchlights on the second one and I don't see any on the first one.
You have nice DOF on this, could be better w/the f/stop open wider, but I can understand if you can't open wider due to continuous lighting.
You are lucky to have a willing participant :)
Also...your ss is way tooo low and it helps to create motion blur, which is OK if you want that, but don't think you do in this instance????
At this focal length your ss would need to be at at least 1/120.
Mar they are slave flashes but I can't adjust the output level. That particular lense was wide open and she was getting antsy so I didn't bother switching. It was 2 lights bouncing off of umbrellas. The main with a silver lining the other just white. and I hade a wireless flash on the background. No I didn't use a light meter.
Thanks Mar That is why I said didn't think it was right, I don't recall it being that slow. Cause when I saw it I knew that wasn't right. I could have sworn I changed it in camera though.
thanks again for all of the advise and CC :D I appreciate it
